SOACHA-SAN MATEO
In the development of a proposed habitat brigade within the framework of the UBICAR Course in 2012, work was carried out with the community that inhabits the San Mateo neighborhood located in Soacha, Colombia.
We worked with different families, one of them made up of Doña Gloria, her two daughters and her grandson, who sought to improve their home so that the children could continue living together with them.
The whole process was carried out with the family and the materials that they could provide, the help was labor and design from the disposition of what existed. Upon arrival at the home there was damage due to the winter wave, so much of the house was in poor condition.
Among the improvements, it was possible to put a bathroom, which did not exist before, and to have a space for the kitchen as well as the independence of 3 rooms.

HOUSE OF CULTURE - CHOCO VALLEY. CHOCO, COLOMBIA
In the margin of the Ubicar project, registered within the architecture program at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, we were able to visit the community in El Valle, Chocó with the purpose of carrying out participatory designs of different spaces necessary for the community, with the support of the mayor's office. . To this end, we developed a project for the sports house together with Florentino, one of the locals, who gave us knowledge of structures and roofs that are common and continuously used in the community.
The entire project was developed with materials found in the sector, as well as ideas from the community. The main difficulties that we presented were the terrain, since it was not regular, and the specifications of the sports house.
The experience was more than enriching, the learning was mutual and we contributed projects that were viable in terms of construction and project management development. Being Chocó one of the richest places in Colombia, it is one of the places that needs the most help so that the wealth is used properly and the vision of the community is directed to a new End that leads to the development and appropriation of the territory.
